If you have dreamed of visiting New York and you love the holiday season, you will want to head out there for some Christmas in July fun. It is full of sites and attractions, but to truly get a taste of the festivities, you’ll want to make a stop at the North Pole.

North Pole, NY is a small hamlet located in the town of Wilmington in Essex County in the Adirondack Mountains. It sits inside Adirondack Park near Whiteface Mountain, about 12 miles from Lake Placid. It is one of the best places for winter snow with a 96% chance of snow at Christmas.

The spot’s likelihood to get snow has earned it the name North Pole and, in honoring that spirit, there’s a Santa’s Workshop located in the area that makes for year-round seasonal fun. Here are some of the things you can do when you visit.

Santa’s Workshop Theme Park

The Santa’s Workshop Theme Park will fill you with cheer no matter when you visit. You can explore the park to check out shows like Santa’s Proclamation, the Nativity Pageant and the Santa Claus Parade. The rides are kid friendly and include a mini-Ferris wheel, a train ride and a mini-coaster. You can also check out attractions like Santa Claus Memory Lane and the Frosty North Pole kids’ playground where children can play with snow.

Special events take place year-round, but you’ll want to plan your trip to coincide with their Christmas and July which takes place every weekend in July. After arriving, you will be seated at a table in Northern Lights Café where a personalized family candle and place setting for each member awaits you. Then you will get to enjoy a holiday dinner with Mrs. Claus.

After dinner, children can decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus before they head out to the campfire for marshmallow roasting and Christmas stories.

The next morning, you will be treated to breakfast with Santa at the Northern Lights before setting out to explore Santa’s workshop. Other goodies in the package include:

• A commemorative reindeer shoe

• Candy from Santa’s candy maker

• Christmas bells

• A stuffed animal

• A stocking

• A Santa hat

You can also visit the gift room and order a personalized letter from Santa for your child.

Closer to Christmas, be sure to come back for their Village of Lights, Yuletide Weekends and Night Before Christmas Photos.
